A boline is an athame that is traditionally used by Green Witches and dates back to the time when the boline was used to harvest herbs by hand. In ancient times, tools such as the boline served two purposes – a practical everyday tool and secondly, as a magickal/spiritual tool … as was the case with the cauldron, broom etc.  Modern Green Witches use the boline, in Wiccan rituals, as a way to honor those who came before them.
